Saturday May 23rd
Today was fantastic. I woke up at 6am this morning, too excited to sleep one more second...Color Run day! At 7am, Kendall, Tessje and their mom came to pick me up. We drove to Fort Wayne, where we arrived on the place of the Color Run 1 hour too early. However, no time to get sleepy! We put our numbers on, our color run t-shirts, and let's go!
Getting ready!
They had a big scene with music, and people where dancing Zumba. Soon, there was a crowd of people dancing and jumping together!

We met there Abby, her boyfriend, and Tereza. There were a lot of people! I would say probably 2 thousands. At 9am, everyone was ready to start. We joined the crowd a the starting line, we all started the count down, “5, 4, 3, 2, 1....let's run!”

T (blue shorts), Tessje (Tall one), Me (sunglasses behind) and Kendall (sunglasses bending down) waving at the camera on the starting line!

Me and Tessje starting the race!
everyone started to run, some people sprinting, some jogging, a lot walking. The color run is a 5k race (3.1 mile) after a little bit, we passed through the first color station (it's not called the COLOR run for nothing!” you passed under an arch, and there were people on both sides with paint (it was kind of a mix of paint and colorful powder) throwing color on you.
We took about 40 minutes for 5 kilometers (yeah we didn't go really fast at all...)
How the color station works
This first station was the color pink, and when we got out of it, we had pink in our hair, our face and all over our clothes! In between the different stations, there was music, people were blowing bubbles in our face, we “high-fived” with some cops in the street... Everyone was wearing the same white t-shirt, some people had tutus, colorful socks, fake hair, costumes...it was great to see! Next station was the yellow one, then the orange one, and then the blue one. I had enough energy to run the entire race, but Kendall was tired and walked, and we didn't want to leave her behind, so we walked a part with her. It didn't really matter anyway, because the purpose of this race isn't really running, but more having fun.
This year was a special one, and the color run was actually called the “Shine tour”. For this reason, when we arrived at the finish line people also threw glitters at us! We passed under big arches, and received a medal and bags of paint/powder color.

Tessje, Me and Tereza finishing the race! Already some colors on!
Everyone met in from of the scene where the DJ was playing music. We screamed, we jumped, we danced..It was just amazing! And then we started another countdown, and “3, 2, 1...” everyone threw their bags of color in the air and it was one of the most crazy thing I've ever seen. It was a cloud of colors! We got covered in pink, green, blue, gold!

All this with music and laughs. Honestly it was an unforgettable moment. I saw that they were doing color runs in Europe too, and I will sign up for next year! Once we were done, we decided to go eat out, to Spyros, a breakfast place. The face of people when they saw us coming in, purple and blue girls, was hilarious! The food there is really good, but at the end of the lunch, all the tiredness from waking up early and running came back and we had to leave and go back home.
Soon after, I left to the cabin with my family, and we brought Tessje with us. We drove gokart (not technically drive, but we were sitting next to the driver), went with the boat on the pond, had a bonfire where we cooked hot dogs and smores...
It was just a perfect day.
