Saturday January 3^rd

I had a basketball tournament this day. We were supposed to leave at 8 o'clock to be on time, but it was really cold during the night and the roads were awful, really dangerous. So they pushed the time we would leave back, and back...And we finally didn't leave until 10! We had a long way to South Adams were the tournament was, around 2 hours. On the road, there was a lot of traffic because of the icy roads, and we saw 2 cars and 1 semi on the side! We finally arrived, 30 minutes before our first game...Just on time! We played Chesterton first, a team that we had never played before. They were really good … and really ruff! They beat us by almost 20 points...then we had a 2 hours break, not enough time to go out buy something to eat, so some mom went to buy us pizzas and we ate all together. Then we were tired so we decided to take a nap...in the middle of the basketball court! We all took our pillows and blankets and just slept there...a good team moment!

We then played another team, Rossville, and we won. However to win the tournament we had to win both so we left without any prize...

They boys had a home game the same night but I was just too tired to stay awake so I went back home and right after dinner, I slept.

PS: on our way to South Adams, we passed through a town called...Berne! It is a town settled directly by Swiss immigrants. I saw a lot of Swiss flags, mostly Bern flags but also one of Geneva! A swiss “fromagerie”, and even a house that looked like the traditional Appenzel houses!
